CELEBRATING CHILDREN’S DAY IN TAJIKISTAN

Sunday 1 June 2014

This year the event took place in the central park of Kurgan-Tube City involving the attendance of over 1,500 children along with local officials of Khatlon Region and members of the press. Save the Children and the local authorities invited more than 100 children with disabilities to take part in this holiday. Their parents and relatives expressed gratitude that their disabled children were not excluded from such an important day.

Children of all ages presented a grandiose show for this event. A multinational cultural program was performed by children from different districts of Khatlon Region, creating an atmosphere of friendliness and camaraderie.

The Local Government highlighted the contribution of Save the Children to this event and thanked it for continued support and fruitful co-operation. In commemorating this day, Save the Children presented disabled children with gifts and congratulated them on their participation in the event.
