Medical and non-medical equipment has been delivered to PHC
In September, Save the Children International has delivered new medical and non-medical equipment to 20 Primary health care centers of Varzob and Vahdat districts, Tajikistan.
This was accomplished within the framework of the “Mother and child health” project, year one. Provision of equipment and furniture is a part of a small-scale project, where community makes own contribution in improving community health facility and Save the Children International equips it with medical and non-medical furniture and equipment. This equipment will input in reducing maternal and infant mortality in villages, as well as improve the quality of medical services to the population of the targeted rural areas.
It should also be noted that in addition to the equipment delivery, Save the Children provided training sessions for medical workers, village activists and administrations, where participants learned how to identify and consider the ways of collective solutions of different issues related to the development of healthcare in rural areas.
It is expected that by the end of 2019, twenty more Primary Health Care centers will be provided with technical equipment and furniture in Varzob and Vahdat.
The planned completion date of the project is December 31, 2019.
