Integrated management of childhood illness

On May 7th Save the Children started a seven days Facility based Integrated Management of Childhood Illness training in both Vahdat and Varzob districts.

The training was approved by the Ministry of Health with involvement of highly qualified IMCI experts as trainers. The key goals and objectives of this training is to build the capacity of Primary Health Care staff, particularly in rural and remote areas where the services are most limited and level of health literacy lowest.

MHM Project organized series of training courses in 10 schools of Kyrgyzstan

Save the Children International organized and conducted series of training courses on sanitation and hygiene topics for the teachers in five project targeted schools in Chui and Ysyk-Ata districts of Chui oblast and in five schools of Aravan and Alai districts of Osh oblast.

“Mother and Child Health” project: the first achievements

Save the Children International completed the first training events in twenty project villages for women's groups and community group members in Varzob and Vahdat.

Training courses on mother and child’s health were held for 400 members of 20 women’s groups. These trainings addressed the reduction of child and maternal mortality, the importance of breastfeeding, and ways to identify various health threats before, during, and after pregnancy.

Save the Children International has delivered 60,000 baby caps for children from Vahdat and Varzob

Save the Children International has delivered 60,000 knitted caps for newborns and children under five to medical facilities in Vahdat and Varzob.

This action was implemented within the framework of the project "Mather and Child Health". It symbolizes one of the easiest ways to reduce to decrease infant mortality, together with early breastfeeding and immunization. According to the standards of the WHO, babies should wear caps, because they help to keep a balanced temperature during weather changes.
